# Tamanrasset, Algeria 2.4 MW Off-Grid Solar-Storage Microgrid Off-grid power supply for a residential area deep in the Sahara Desert, with diesel consumption reduced by 78% and power supply availability reaching 99.6%. The project is located deep in the Sahara Desert, where the existing diesel generator sets had high power supply costs and poor reliability. VGID POWER provided a 2.4 MWp PV + 6 MWh storage off-grid microgrid, equipped with 500 kW PCS and STS static transfer switches.
